Aït Ben Haddou · Dades · Merzouga · Fes · Chefchaouen · Rabat · Casablanca
Eight days that link the south and the north: the kasbahs and the Sahara first, then the medina of Fes, the blue streets of Chefchaouen and the Atlantic capital Rabat before ending in Casablanca.
Pick-up at your riad and drive over the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass, with stops at viewpoints and Berber villages. In the afternoon you explore the fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou before continuing to Ouarzazate for the night.
A gentle day along the road of the kasbahs: the palm grove of Skoura, the Valley of Roses around Kalaat M'Gouna and the curves of the Dades Gorge, where you sleep facing the cliffs.
Morning walk in the Todra Gorge, then east across the pre-Sahara to Merzouga. In the late afternoon your camels are waiting for a sunset trek into Erg Chebbi and a first night at the desert camp.
Sunrise from the dunes, then a 4x4 tour around Erg Chebbi: Gnawa music in Khamlia, tea with a nomad family and the market town of Rissani. Free time for sandboarding before a second night in Merzouga.
Drive north along the palm groves of the Ziz Valley, through Midelt and the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas, where Barbary macaques live, to Fes.
Half-day guided tour of Fes el-Bali, one of the largest medieval medinas in the world: madrasas, fountains, the famous tanneries and the workshops of craftsmen. Free afternoon.
Drive into the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen and spend the afternoon wandering its blue lanes, the kasbah and the viewpoint of the Spanish mosque.
Morning in Chefchaouen, then south-west to Rabat for a visit of the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas, and on to Casablanca to see the Hassan II Mosque before your drop-off.
