Itinerary

Day 1 · Marrakech

Pick-up at your hotel, riad or the airport in Marrakech. Guided tour of Marrakech: the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the souks of the medina. Evening on Jemaa el-Fna.

Night: Riad in Marrakech

Day 2 · Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

Over the High Atlas, visit of Aït Ben Haddou and the road of the kasbahs to the Dades Valley.

Day 3 · Dades – Todra – Merzouga

Morning walk in the Todra Gorge, then east through Tinejdad and Erfoud. Camel trek at sunset into Erg Chebbi and night at the desert camp.

Day 4 · A day around Erg Chebbi

Sunrise from the dunes, then a 4x4 tour: Gnawa musicians in Khamlia, tea with a nomad family, the seasonal lake of Dayet Srji and the old ksour of Rissani. Free time for sandboarding before a second night in Merzouga.

Day 5 · Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes

Sunrise and breakfast in the dunes, then north along the Ziz palm groves, over the Middle Atlas through Midelt and the cedar forest to Fes.

Day 6 · Fes

Guided tour of Fes el-Bali with a local guide: the Bou Inania madrasa, the Karaouine, the souks of the craftsmen and the famous Chouara tanneries. Free afternoon in your riad.

North into the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen, with a free afternoon to explore the blue town.

Back down from the Rif mountains to the Atlantic and Rabat, with time for a walk in the Kasbah of the Udayas.
